My ‘UPside’ is inspired by the ephemera we keep throughout our lives as souvenirs of happy events. These old postcards, receipts, photographs and ornaments serve as memory triggers, transporting us back to these occasions. Through the series of works, I wish to explore the concepts of memory, nostalgia and sentimental value.

Toe dipper work in progress

My UPside pieces will be a series of quite personal moments based around touch and evoking the feelings one gets from these small often private sensory pleasures.

This is the first colour sketch. I’m still very much at the compositional sketching stage.

Pen and inked and then coloured digitally.
